Job Description:
Amazon Robotics is building a new foundational automation system which will transform warehouse operations by enabling the integration of multiple complex automation solutions. The team is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer to design and optimize electrical subsystems for robotics systems and industrial automation equipment.
Responsibilities:
* Review modify and approve electrical schematics and engineering calculations
* Coordinate and lead cross-functional efforts to engineer design and optimize both new and existing electrical control systems.
* Integration of electrical system engineering and design into Agile processes
* Review electrical designs for safety compliance to required machine safety standards and codes including but not limited to NFPA70E NFPA79 IEC 60947 IEC 61010 IEC 61810 IEC 60204 and/or IEC 62061
* Apply IEC industrial standards for the development lifecycle of an electrical control system
* Partner with internal and external teams to identify test and implement opportunities for system cost savings
* Identify design and implement opportunities to improve deployability and maintainability of electrical subsystems
Qualifications:
* BS / MS Electrical Engineering or similar field
* 5 years of engineering experience with electrical control systems for industrial automation
* 3 years of engineering experience with motion control servos drives and electronic power conversion equipment.
* Experience designing or integrating autonomous equipment like AGVs or mobile robots.
* Demonstrated experience with IEC standards for electrical controls for robotics and machinery IEC 62061 ISO 13849 ISO 10218/ANSI RIA 15.06 or similar experience in other industries IEC 62304 ISO 26262 etc.
* Demonstrated experience with Functional Safety standards IEC 62061 ISO 13849 or IEC 61508
* Experience working with teams to meet project deadlines.
* Experience developing functional specifications and products to meet the business and end user needs
* Ability to resolve complex issues in creative efficient and effective ways
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
